Boarding School Healing Coalition Urges Mental Wellness Resources to Counter Intergenerational Trauma.

The National Native America Boarding School Healing Coalition (NABS) argues that more mental wellness support resources are necessary to support Native American communities dealing with trauma from dislocation, abuse, and violence at boarding schools in Canada and the US. The recent discovery of graves of Indian children at former boarding schools in Canada has triggered a new wave of trauma in native communities where thousands of indigenous children were removed from their families and traditional lives and forced to behave like the colonizers and to speak only English.
