UGA student and former NASA president Mariah Cady named a 2024 Rhodes Scholar

University of Georgia honors student and former Native American Student Association president has been awarded the competitive and highly respected Rhodes Scholarship. Mariah Cady was one of 32 students recognized nationwide and will begin her graduate studies at the University of Oxford in October. 

UGA's President Jere Morehead stated, “I am confident that Mariah will make significant contributions to the world through her academic and professional pursuits.” 

She will be pursuing two master's degrees, one in linguistics, philology, and phonetics and the second in refugee and forced migration studies.
