Rewrite the Story of Thanksgiving Writing Contest

False Thanksgiving
Change.org

Every year the Wall Street Journal, one of the most widely read publications in the US, features a pilgrim narrative of Thanksgiving. The narratives are usually filled with racist remarks and content that disparages Native Americans and present a false story of the fall feast. Native activists and Change.org are holding a writing competition and accompanying petition to end this annual publication of anti-Native commentary and, instead, tell a story that honors indigenous people. Submit your 600-word narrative. The winner will receive $500 and change.org's support in getting the story published in the Wall Street Journal. Two runners-up will each receive $100. See the writing guidelines here.
